The Colorado note matters mainly as a sign that host-state rules can reach into placement planning. Colorado is also absent from Kent State's approved-states list for online programs; the wider picture is on clinicals outside Ohio.
If something happens at your site
Liability coverage exists for the day something goes wrong, and Kent State's first expectation is prompt reporting. Kent State's graduate handbook calls for a clinical incident report, filed promptly after any incident. The agency will have its own reporting process as well, and your preceptor is the person to walk you through it on the spot.
Absences follow the same principle. If you will miss a scheduled day, the handbook expects you to tell both your preceptor and your practicum faculty and to offer a plan for making the time up. The College of Nursing name badge

Degrees, credentials and outside affiliations stay off it, so the badge reads the same for a staff nurse with ten years of experience as for a new graduate.
