This policy explains what information Kent State Preceptor collects when you use this site, why we collect it, who processes it for us and the choices you have. It covers the forms, the chat, WhatsApp and text messages, the email tips sign-up, cookies, and the tools that run on every page.

Who we are
Kent State Preceptor is an independent clinical-placement service for Kent State University nursing students. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Kent State Preceptor and its placement desk. You can send questions about this policy through the contact page or the chat.
Information you give us
When you fill in a form, use the chat or message us, you may give us:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your phone number;
- your Kent State program, course and start timing;
- your location, such as your city and state;
- the content of your messages, and anything else you choose to tell us about your placement.
This information goes to our placement desk's lead system, where your placement advisor uses it to reply to you and to arrange your placement. Please keep health records and other sensitive documents out of forms and chat unless we ask for a specific item needed for a placement.
Visitor identification on every page
Every page of this site loads a visitor-identification tool provided by Retention. It may recognize returning visitors and may match a visit to an email address, so that we can follow up with people who have shown interest in our service. Information it provides is handled under this policy and goes to the same lead system.
You can limit this tool by blocking third-party cookies and scripts in your browser, and you can ask us to delete any record it created about you.
Email tips
The footer offers clinical-placement tips by email. If you sign up, we use your email address to send those tips and related updates about our service. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in an email or by asking us through the contact form or chat.
WhatsApp and text messages
If you choose to contact us by WhatsApp or text message, our placement desk receives your phone number and the messages you send. WhatsApp and your mobile carrier handle those messages under their own privacy terms. We use them to reply to you and to arrange your placement, and the details join the same lead system as form and chat inquiries.
Cookies and local storage
This site uses cookies and your browser's local storage to keep features working, for example to remember whether you have closed a pop-up or started a chat. The chat and the visitor-identification tool described above also set their own cookies.
You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Some features, such as the chat, may not work as smoothly if you do.
How we use your information
- To reply to your inquiries, chats and messages.
- To arrange your placement: searching for preceptors and sites and preparing the details your Kent State practicum faculty and coordinator review.
- To send quotes and updates about your placement.
- To send email tips if you signed up for them.
- To follow up with visitors the visitor-identification tool recognizes.
- To run, secure and improve the site and our service, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it to other companies for their own marketing.
We share it only with the service providers that run our lead system, chat, messaging, email and visitor identification for the purposes above; with a prospective preceptor or clinical site when you ask us to arrange a placement, limited to the details they need to consider you; and where the law requires it.
Replies by email, call or text
When you send us your details, you agree that we may reply by email, phone call or text message about your enquiry and your placement. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop text messages, and tell us in chat or through the contact form if you would rather not be called or emailed.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while we are helping you and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time through the contact form or the chat. We will remove it from our lead system and ask our service providers to do the same, except where the law requires us to keep a record.
Security
We use established providers and limit access to your information to the people who need it to help you. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so please share only what your placement needs.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed, and continued use of the site after a change means the updated policy applies.
