When the table shows two figures for one program, the version in your catalog year and syllabus governs, and your concentration coordinator can confirm it. The Pediatric Primary Care NP concentration is closed to new students, though those already enrolled in it continue through all five of its practicums.

Where your program runs from

The fully online concentrations (PMHNP, WHNP, AGCNS, Nurse Educator and NAHSL) never require a campus visit, and Kent State's approved-states page lists where each one enrolls. The mostly online FNP, AGPCNP and AGACNP include some campus attendance at the Kent Campus and are not on that page. In every graduate program, practicum happens in person in the state where you hold an unrestricted RN license.

Which Kent State MSN concentrations are fully online?

The PMHNP, WHNP, Adult Gerontology CNS, Nurse Educator and Nursing Administration and Health Systems Leadership concentrations are fully online. The FNP, AGPCNP and AGACNP are mostly online, with some courses on the Kent Campus.

Which Kent State program has the most practicum hours?

Among the MSN concentrations, the FNP's five practicum courses add up to 675 hours, the highest total. Among the doctoral paths, the BSN-entry Nurse Administration and Executive Leadership DNP carries more practicum courses than any other route.

Is Kent State's Pediatric NP program still open?

Kent State's catalog says the Pediatric Primary Care NP concentration is not accepting applications, and the MSN handbook says certificate admissions were suspended in Fall 2024. Students already in the program still complete its practicums.

Do Kent State BSN students need to find their own preceptors?

No. Kent State schedules BSN clinicals by cohort, and faculty and staff assign the RN preceptor for the senior capstone. The preceptor search described on this site applies to graduate students.
