New Hampshire: what Kent State approves and what it discloses
New Hampshire residents may enroll in four Kent State online programs: Nurse Educator and NAHSL (MSN or certificate for each), the RN-to-BSN, and the DNP for nurses who already hold a master's. Kent State's program listing also says its NP and AGCNS post-master's certificates DO NOT MEET New Hampshire's licensing requirements, while a second Kent State page says they do.

Two Kent State pages, two answers on certificates
Kent State's Programs Leading to Licensure listing puts New Hampshire in the DOES NOT MEET column for its APRN post-master's certificates, alongside Arkansas, California, New York and American Samoa, and for the AGCNS certificate too. Its professional licensure page, organized by state, lists New Hampshire the other way: the APRN certificates MEET. Kent State has not explained the difference. The APRN program pages add a third position, saying no determination on out-of-state licensure has been reached.
The conflict matters to post-master's students adding a population focus through a Kent State certificate. For a New Hampshire resident it is partly academic today, since the online PMHNP, WHNP and AGCNS certificates are not approved for enrollment from the state. Anyone planning around them should get Kent State's current answer in writing and check with the New Hampshire Board of Nursing. The certificates themselves are on post-master's certificates.
Board rules for New Hampshire clinicals
OPLC, the state's professional licensing office, houses the New Hampshire Board of Nursing. For schools based elsewhere that prepare students for a first license and use New Hampshire facilities, rule Nur 602.15(j) requires advance registration, six weeks' notice per placement, a Form A petition each year, a Part B form per rotation and a signed preceptor agreement per preceptor. The online copy of that rule carries a January 23, 2026 expiration, and readoption is unconfirmed.
OPLC's own page places post-licensure education beyond the Board's regulation, so Kent State's approved New Hampshire options sit outside Form A and Part B. SARA, which Kent State joined in 2015, handles the online side of things; nursing boards keep their own say over clinicals.
Practicums and preceptors in New Hampshire
Nurse Educator students pair a specialty practicum with an educator-role practicum, NAHSL students work under a master's-prepared leader, and DNP students build project hours across the three project courses, NURS 72692 to NURS 72892 (DNP page).
Major employers include Dartmouth Health (home of Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center), Concord Hospital Health System, Elliot Health System, Catholic Medical Center and Southern New Hampshire Health. People concentrate in the Manchester-Nashua metro, the New Hampshire slice of the Boston metro and around Concord. New Hampshire's compact membership took effect January 19, 2018, so residents typically hold a multistate license issued by New Hampshire. That home-state license, kept unrestricted, is what Kent State's catalog asks of students training outside Ohio; the finer points are on RN license for practicum. New Hampshire has not adopted the APRN Compact.

Questions Kent State students ask
Can a New Hampshire APRN take Kent State's PMHNP certificate online?
Not under Kent State's current pages. New Hampshire is not approved for the online PMHNP certificate, and Kent State's program listing says its NP certificates fall short of New Hampshire's requirements, though its state-organized licensure page says otherwise. Ask the Office of Student Services and the New Hampshire Board of Nursing before investing time in that path.
Can I do Kent State's post-MSN DNP from New Hampshire?
Yes. The post-MSN DNP, fully online, counts New Hampshire among its 16 approved states. Per Kent State's DNP FAQ, you may complete the project where you live, and the preceptor search falls mainly to you, with faculty and the DNP program director helping. The DNP leads to no new license, so the certificate conflict does not touch it.
Does New Hampshire's Part B placement form apply to my RN-to-BSN or MSN clinicals?
Based on OPLC's page, no. The Form A petition, Part B form and six weeks' notice belong to out-of-state programs preparing students for initial licensure, and OPLC describes post-licensure study, RN-to-MSN included, as unregulated by the Board. Kent State still arranges an affiliation agreement with your site before any hours count.
I'm moving from Ohio to New Hampshire during my MSN. What now?
Tell the Office of Student Services about the move before it happens; Kent State requires that notice. Nurse Educator and NAHSL students will find New Hampshire on their list. NP and AGCNS students face a state not approved for those online programs, so the college decides whether they continue.
