Who we are
We are an independent service that places Kent State nursing students with preceptors. Our placement advisors work one student at a time: they learn your concentration, your next NURS practicum course, where you live and when your semester starts, then search for preceptors and sites that fit. The placement desk keeps every search moving and stays reachable through the semester.
We concentrate on Kent State because its graduate programs place the preceptor search in students' hands. Kent State's program pages describe finding a preceptor as primarily the student's responsibility, with the concentration coordinator helping before the first practicum. That leaves working nurses running a search on top of study and work. Taking that search over, and doing it thoroughly, is our whole job.
Why a service built for one school
Every school runs practicum its own way, and the details decide whether a placement is approved. Kent State recognizes hours only where a College of Nursing affiliation agreement is in force, expects each day in Typhon within 15 days, keeps them inside semester dates and sets different preceptor rules for each concentration, from a psychotherapy-experienced provider for the first PMHNP practicum to a master's-prepared leader for NAHSL. Our process is built on those rules, so each search starts from what your course requires.
Our pages follow the same discipline. Each draws on Kent State's catalog, handbooks and program pages, lists its sources, and shows both figures where Kent State publishes two, such as the FNP's 675 hours by course sum against the catalog's 300 to 600 rule. How we work alongside Kent State
Kent State's own people keep the decisions that belong to them. Practicum faculty and concentration coordinators give the final approval of every preceptor and site, agreements with facilities run through the College of Nursing, and plans, license checks and compliance monitoring sit with the Office of Academic Advising and Student Services. We work through you. You confirm your preceptor with practicum faculty, as Kent State's handbook asks, and what you bring them is a placement that already meets Kent State's criteria, with every document in place. We make sure what reaches faculty and coordinators is complete and fits the rules the first time, and when a question belongs to Kent State, such as an early start, a move to another state or a lapsed compliance item, we tell you which office to ask.
Who we serve
Most of the students we work with are in Kent State's graduate programs: the MSN concentrations, from Family NP and Psychiatric Mental Health NP to Nurse Educator and Nursing Administration; the post-master's certificates, which use the practicums of the matching MSN concentration and so follow the same course rules; and the DNP, whose project courses need a site and a preceptor. They live across Northeast Ohio, in Akron, Canton, Cleveland and Youngstown, and in the other states Kent State approves for its online programs.
BSN and Accelerated BSN clinicals are arranged by the school, and the senior capstone preceptor is matched by university and hospital staff. RN-to-BSN students who need a clinical site for NURS 43001 can reach us as well. The programs page lists each program's practicum courses and hours.

Do you work with Kent State students outside Ohio?
