Kent State online nursing and Nevada
Nevada is not approved for any Kent State online nursing program; no list includes it, from the NP and CNS tracks to Nurse Educator, NAHSL, the DNP and the RN-to-BSN. A Nevada resident cannot currently enroll online, and any enrolled Kent State student relocating to Nevada owes the Office of Student Services prompt notice. Nevada adds a hurdle of its own: internet-delivered programs may not teach clinically in the state without Board approval.

Nevada's status with Kent State
Kent State's approved-states page, read September 24, 2026, lists Nevada for none of its online nursing programs. The licensure page is a separate matter: it marks every licensure-track program MEETS for Nevada, which describes licensure after graduation and opens no door to enrollment. Every state's entry is on Kent State's approved states.

No reason is given for Nevada's absence, though the approved-states page cautions in general terms that certain state laws can make practicum courses impossible to run. For the mostly online NP tracks, with their required Kent Campus days, no out-of-state rule exists in print, and the Office of Student Services is the one to ask. Treat the MEETS results cautiously too, since Kent State's APRN program pages still call out-of-state licensure an open question; more on licensure disclosures.
Nevada's rules for out-of-state programs
Under NAC 632.703, a school teaching any piece of its program in Nevada reports to the Board on the Board's own form, attaching proof of accreditation or approval and evidence of compliance with chapter 632, then keeps filing annual school reports. Programs delivered online or in other nontraditional formats need Board approval before offering clinical instruction in the state, and their Nevada faculty must be Nevada-licensed. Nothing in the rule sets pre-licensure and graduate programs apart.
The Board's September 1, 2026 program list names the out-of-state schools cleared to run just the clinical part of their programs in Nevada, and every one is a pre-licensure ADN or BSN program. Another Board practice decision is blunt: patient care delivered to someone in Nevada requires a Nevada license, and nursing education involving direct patient contact counts.

Nevada practice and health systems
The AANP rates Nevada full practice, with one limit: new NPs cannot prescribe Schedule II drugs on their own until they reach two years or 2,000 hours of experience, with a physician-approved protocol as the exception. Renown Health, The Valley Health System, HCA Healthcare's Sunrise Health System, UMC of Southern Nevada and Dignity Health, whose Nevada hospitals sit in Las Vegas and Henderson, employ many of the state's clinicians.
Metro Las Vegas counts about 2.4 million residents, metro Reno roughly 579,000, and Carson City under 60,000. Read those systems as a guide to where Nevada clinicians practice, not a list of Kent State sites; any site would need a current affiliation agreement with Kent State's College of Nursing before hours count.

Could a Nevada resident start Kent State's online PMHNP?
No. Nevada appears on none of Kent State's online nursing lists, the PMHNP's included. The MEETS result on the licensure page concerns licensure after graduation, not enrollment. If Kent State is your first choice, checking back with its student services office is the way to learn of any change to the undated list.
Will a multistate RN license work for Nevada clinicals?
No. Compact privileges do not extend into Nevada, which is not a member. Per a Nevada State Board of Nursing practice decision, direct patient contact with people located in Nevada, clinical education included, requires a Nevada license, so apply to the Board well before any Nevada rotation.
Could Kent State get approval for my clinicals in Nevada?
Nevada lets an internet-delivered program give clinical instruction only with Board approval, and every school on the Board's clinical-only approval list is a pre-licensure program. Whether Kent State would seek approval is the college's decision. Ask the Office of Student Services before you plan a Nevada placement.
